Director, European Projects
Goff is a highly experienced project manager with a track record for innovation who has experience in proposal writing, evaluating, reviewing and monitoring collaborative research projects in the field of ICT. He has an honours degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, is a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and of the Federation of Small Businesses.
He has written a number of successful project proposals and has experience of successfully leading collaborative projects. Whilst at BT, between 1992 and 1996 he was Coordinator of the European collaborative project “Multi Wavelength Transport Network” which won the RACE award for outstanding technological achievement. Between 2005 and 2007 he was the Technical Leader of European collaborative project “BReATH” which promoted the take up of broadband in Europe’s New Member States. In 2009 he was the Technical Leader of Technology Strategy Board funded feasibility study “iSouthend” which was selected as one of four projects out of 84 that offered “high exploitation potential”.
Goff regularly acts as an evaluator or recorder for the European Commission teams that manage the Framework Programme research funds in the area of ICT. He was special editor for 2 volumes of the Focal Press book “The Cable and Telecommunications Reference”, published in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
